Conference Manager features simple tools to upload and store files on your Conference Manager site. These can be accessed using the Folders tool - the folder icon in the top right of the screen. This tool is only available to logged in users. By default, there is also a folder called 'hidden' in each CID. This folder, and all files located within it, are only visible to administrators.
The Folder is very similar to Windows Explorer, or the Finder for Mac users. Admins are able to upload, rename, move, copy, download, and delete files and folders. Navigating through the folders is done by clicking on the name of a folder you wish to open. Alternatively, you can click on the drop-down menu in the top left corner to jump to an alternate location.
Create a new folder
This option allows you to create a new file folder in the current folder. You will be prompted to create a folder name or to cancel the action.
Upload a new file
This option prompts you to select an existing file that you would like to upload to the current folder. If the file name contained spaces or special characters, these will be removed on the uploaded file.
Rename a file
To rename a file, select the check box next to the file you wish to alter, and click Rename a File. Select the radio button next to the file you wish to rename, and give the file a new name. Only letters, numbers and underscores can be used in file names - all other characters will be removed.
Delete Selected Files
To delete a file or folder, select the check box next to the item you wish to delete, and click Delete a File. You will be prompted to confirm that you wish to delete the item - once it is gone, you will not be able to get it back, so be especially careful when deleting folders.
Move Selected Files
To move a file or folder, select the check box next to the item you wish to alter, chose the destination under the Target Folder drop-down menu, and click Move a File. You will be prompted to confirm the move or cancel the action.
Copy Selected Files
To copy a file or folder, select the check box next to the item you wish to copy, chose the destination under the Target Folder drop-down menu, and click Copy a File. You will be prompted to confirm the copy or cancel the action.
Download Selected Files
To download a file, select the item you wish to download and click Download Selected Files. You will receive a link that you can click to download the file to your computer, and then you can click Return to return to the Folders tool.
